Annual Magazine ‘The Luminary’ released at M M Modi College
M M Modi College, Patiala today organized a function to release its Annual College Magazine ‘The Luminary’ focusing on the theme of International Youth Day ‘Transforming Education’. Sh. K. K. Sharma, Chairman PRTC and College Alumni presided over the release function. The programme was inaugurated with lamp lighting ceremony. The Chief Guest congratulated the College for maintaining high quality academic standards along with glorious achievements in the fields of art and literature. He encouraged the students to work for communal harmony and secular society.
College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the Chief Guest and congratulated the editorial and publication team of the college. He said that education is the life-line of any democratic nation. Remembering African-American Novelist Late Tony Morrison he said that in the current global scenario, it is significant to direct the focus of literature and education towards upliftment of marginalized and under-represented sections of our society.
Prof. (Dr.) Baljinder Kaur, Vice Principal and Editor in Chief of the Magazine ‘The Luminary’ said that the objective of Publication of this Magazine is to provide a platform for the budding writers and future thinkers to sharpen their literary skills and potential capabilities. Dr. Ashwani Sharma, Editor, Science Section ‘The Luminary’ discussed the content based on scientific themes and encouraged the students to contribute to the magazine on regular basis. Student editors Harsukhpawan Kaur (English Section) and Satnam Singh (Punjabi Section) shared their experience of editing with the students.
A vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Ashwani Sharma, Editor, Science Section. The stage was conducted by Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Editor, Punjabi Section of the college magazine. Prof. Neena Sareen (Editor, Commerce Section), Dr. Neeraj Goyal (Editor, News Section), Dr. Ajit Kumar (College Registrar), Dr. Harmohan Sharma (Editor, Computer Section), Dr. Rupinder Sharma (Editor, Hindi Section), Prof. Veenu Jain, Sh. Ajay Kumar Gupta and Sh. Vinod Sharma were also present on the occasion.

ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਨੇ ਰਿਲੀਜ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ‘ਦਿ ਲੂਮਿਨਰੀ‘
ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿੱਖੇ ਅੱਜ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਯੁਵਕ ਦਿਵਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ‘ਟ੍ਰਾਂਸਫਾਰਮਿੰਗ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ’ ਦੇ ਸੰਦਰਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ‘ਦਿ ਲੂਮਿਨਰੀ’ ਰਿਲੀਜ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਪੀ.ਆਰ.ਟੀ.ਸੀ. ਦੇ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕੇ. ਕੇ. ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਯਾਦਾਂ ਸਾਂਝੀਆਂ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੰਪਾਦਕੀ ਮੰਡਲ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਨੇ ਦਹਾਕਿਆਂ ਬੱਧੀ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉੱਚ-ਮਿਆਰੀ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਮਾਪਦੰਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਕਰਾਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਸਗੋਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆ ਸਿਰਜਣਾਤਮਿਕ, ਸਾਹਿਤਕ, ਖੇਡ-ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿ-ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਕਾਬਿਲੇ-ਤਾਰੀਫ਼ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਸ਼ਹਿਣਸ਼ੀਲਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿ-ਹੋਂਦ ਦੇ ਸੰਕਲਪਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਣ ਦਾ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਏ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ਦੇ ਸੰਪਾਦਕੀ ਮੰਡਲ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ-ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ-ਭੂਤਕ ਥੰਮ੍ਹ ਹੈ। ਪਿੱਛਲੇ ਦਿਨੀ ਚਲਾਣਾ ਕਰ ਗਈ ਅਫ਼ਰੀਕੀ-ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਨਾਵਲਕਾਰ ਟੋਨੀ ਮੋਰੀਸਨ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਬਦਲ ਰਹੇ ਗਲੋਬਲੀ ਪਰਿਪੇਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੇ ਵੰਚਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਸ਼ੀਆ-ਗ੍ਰਸਤ ਵਰਗਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਸੇਧਿਤ ਹੋਣਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਾਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ. (ਡਾ.) ਬਲਜਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ, ਮੁੱਖ ਸੰਪਾਦਕ ‘ਦਿ ਲੂਮਿਨਰੀ’ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਸੰਪਾਦਕੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ਦੇ ਉਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੇ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਪਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਨਵੇਂ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ, ਨਵੀਂ ਜੀਵਨ-ਸੋਚ, ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਧਰਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਚਿੰਤਨ-ਪੱਧਤੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾਤਮਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਭਾ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਭਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਕਿਸਤ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਸੈਕਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਸੰਪਾਦਕ ਹਰਸੁੱਖਪਾਵਨ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸੈਕਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਸੰਪਾਦਕ ਸਤਨਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਪਾਦਕੀ ਦੇ ਤਜਰਬੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕੀਤੇ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ‘ਦਿ ਲੂਮਿਨਰੀ’ ਦੇ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਸੈਕਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਸੰਪਾਦਕ ਡਾ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਛਪੀ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਦੀ ਰੂਪ-ਰੇਖਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਸਟੇਜ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸੈਕਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਸੰਪਾਦਕ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਨਿਭਾਈ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨੀਨਾ ਸਰੀਨ (ਸੰਪਾਦਕ, ਕਾਮਰਸ ਸੈਕਸ਼ਨ), ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ (ਸੰਪਾਦਕ, ਨਿਊਜ਼ ਸੈਕਸ਼ਨ), ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ (ਕਾਲਜ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ), ਡਾ. ਹਰਮੋਹਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ (ਸੰਪਾਦਕ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸੈਕਸ਼ਨ), ਡਾ. ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ (ਸੰਪਾਦਕ, ਹਿੰਦੀ ਸੈਕਸ਼ਨ), ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵੀਨੂ ਜੈਨ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਜੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਗੁਪਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਵਿਨੋਦ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ।
